What about...?

Great question! We hope registration opens on or soon after March 1, 2025. If you want to stay informed, why not click the subscribe button or link at the top of the page?

Registration closes May 1, 2025

Our welcome service at camp is 9 pm on Thursday, May 22. Plan to arrive between 2 pm and 7 pm in order to have time to check in, familiarize yourself with camp, and have supper, at 8 pm, before the service.

Our last service is Monday morning, Memorial Day, May 26. Breakfast will be at 9 am with our service at 10 am.

When general registration opens, we will post a link to the Camp Paradise site where you will be able to select a room and pay the registration fee.

You may familiarize yourself with our camp layout below.

General registration for camp from March 1 to May 1 is $200 / person. This includes 4 nights, bunkhouse style accommodations with 11 meals.

Registration at the gate will be $220 on a first-come, first-serve basis.

As space allows, guests may come for the day for $45 / person or 24-hours (overnight) for $70.

As weather and space allows in the RV park, guests may bring an RV, however the cost for registration is the same as someone who bunks in the rooms.

Registration includes a $20 cleaning deposit that is refundable at the close of camp for everyone who successfully cleans their room and assigned common areas.

We sincerely hope so!

Candlelight Camp is designed for youth in our IUC-ECB group of churches. If you are from one of our churches, have a desire to live for God, expectant to learn, and ready to abide by and contribute to camp - we can't wait to see you!

If you are someone who is interested in coming but not from one of our churches, please contact us. We would like to get to know you and hope to welcome you to our camp!

Most visitors find it much easier and cheaper in the big picture to fly directly into Sacramento (SMF) airport. While it is tempting to fly into San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK), or San Jose (SJC), rental cars, bridge tolls, and travel time are usually more expensive.

While we cannot guarantee it. We are piloting a program if there is interest in offering the following shuttles:

Shuttle to camp:        May 22, leave SMF at 5 pm (arrive at camp at 7 pm)

Shuttle to camp:        May 23, leave SMF at 8 am (arrive at camp at 10 am)

Shuttle from camp:   May 26, leave camp at 1 pm (arrive at SMF at 3 pm)

We are also working with local churches to provide lodging for one night before or after camp to youth who do not have other acquaintances. (We're sorry, we are not able to coordinate accommodations before May 21 or after May 27.)

If you are interested, please let us know your full name, e-mail, phone number, arrival flight airline, number, scheduled time, date, departing flight airline, number, scheduled time, date and whether you are requesting the shuttle service, lodging, or both.

E-mail us at: camp@ebf.church and we will try to accommodate you!

It is very important to us that we honor God not only in our minds and knowledge but also in our lives. We expect those at camp to dress modestly at all times. Men are to wear pants and sleeved shirts. Young ladies are to wear skirts or dresses below the knee. Tight or revealing clothing is to be avoided.

Neat and orderly details such as collared shirts for men and hair that is neatly put up for young ladies is encouraged. Things that distract or do not highlight internal Godly character such as highlights, hair dye, make-up, jewelry, or fashion fads are discouraged.

The testimony is the retelling of a story of how God was at work in a person’s life. It strengthens the faith of that person and others who hear it. Testimonies should involve truthful, first-hand experiences. They should clearly relay God’s role and the biblical lesson learned. They should be approximately 5 minutes or less.

Absolutely!

Songs are to be Biblical, reverent, and conservative – exceeding our brotherhood’s high standards and teaching.

Instrument accompaniment is encouraged. Although percussion and rhythm instruments such as drums, shakers, rattles, etc. are not appropriate and will not be allowed. Non-acoustic instruments that rely on pickups or amplification are discouraged.

The genre of songs and hymns shall follow traditional and conservative Baptist style in the U.S. Praise songs as such are not allowed.

Congregational singing will include a song director. Some singers may be asked to help sing musical parts into microphones but will not be a “praise team” or facing the audience.

We agree! Camp is expensive!

We do try hard to keep the costs low. We certainly have enjoyed good food (thank you to the volunteer cooks!), Bible teaching, and fellowship in the past. But also try to balance this out with low costs for you. Did you know that all Candlelight Camps are run not-for-profit? That means that none of the staff, speakers, cooks, logistics, facilities, activities staff, or other areas are paid.

Because of that, we do not have any extra funds for scholarships.

While we cannot provide a scholarship, we encourage you to check with your youth leader or pastor - many churches are able to help subsidize the cost of camp when needed on a case-by-case basis.

Lastly, we know it's a lot - yet almost all things worthwhile require effort or expense. We anticipate that camp will be like that. Require hard work and incur expense but provide you with spiritual growth, fellowship, and great memories for the rest of your life.

We look forward to seeing you at camp!

Our groups of churches recommend one of the following English-language versions:

English Standard Version (ESV)

New King James Version (NKJV)

King James Version (KJV)
